(Last Checked 10/2/26)
The Sumitomo Encounter AT2 is an all-terrain tire that balances off-road capability with on-road ease. Its non-directional 4-rib tread design improves ride stability and helps prevent irregular wear. Deep circumferential grooves boost wet traction, while variable-width shoulder lugs and 3D wave sipes help eject debris and enhance grip on loose surfaces. It’s also certified with the 3PMSF (Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake) rating, meaning it meets required performance in heavier snow conditions.
The 225/65R17 Sumitomo Encounter AT2 has a diameter of 28.5", a width of 9", mounts on a 17" rim and has 742 revolutions per mile. It weighs 33 lbs, has a max load of 2094 lbs, a maximum air pressure of 50 psi, a tread depth of 12/32" and should be used on a rim width of 6-8".
