The Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R ZP is a run-flat track and competition tire developed to maximize performance and reduce lap times. It is highly-tuned to enhance the capability of specific vehicles and may not be used for all applications. With a high-traction tread compound taken directly from Michelin's motorsport tires this asymmetric tread pattern has reduced void areas that improve grip in dry conditions. It has a massive outboard shoulder and the circumferential grooves are narrower, creating wider tread ribs for more rubber in the contact patch than the traditional Pilot Sport Cup 2. The inner shoulder is focused on wet traction with deeper lateral notches to evacuate water but this tire is still aimed significantly at dry surface performance and adds the safety of a zero-pressure run-flat.
